چکیده

Offshore wind energy has become a major source, and various studies are underway to increase the economic feasibility of floating offshore turbines (FOWT). In this study, characteristics wave-induced motion combined wind-wave platform were analyzed reduce variability extraction. A user subroutine was developed, numerical analysis performed in connection with ANSYS-AQWA hydrodynamic program time domain. combining TLP-type FOWT Wavestar-type wave converter (WEC) proposed. Each response on second-order load, effect WEC attachment Power take-off (PTO) force analyzed. The mooring line tension according installation location also vertical single increased approximately three times due sum-frequency load. PTO played as damper for platform. lines front incident direction dominantly affected by pitch platform, located at side mainly heave

Analysis of Wave Motion in a Micropolar Transversely Isotropic Medium

The present investigation deals with the propagation of waves in a micropolar transversely isotropic layer. Secular equations for symmetric and skew-symmetric modes of wave propagation in completely separate terms are derived. The amplitudes of displacements and microrotation were also obtained. Finally, the numerical solution was carried out for aluminium epoxy material and the dispersion curv...

Finite order approximations to radiation forces for wave energy applications

This paper reviews different possibilities to obtain the radiation forces for time-domain simulations of wave energy converters or other floating structures. Three different ways to calculate the radiation forces using boundary element methods are compared in the timeand frequency-domain. The three boundary element programs are also compared with respect to their computational cost. To approxim...

Wave Motion and Stop-Bands in Pipes with Helical Characteristics Using Wave Finite Element Analysis

Pipes are widely used in many industrial and mechanical applications and devices. Although there are many different constructions according to the specific application and device, these can show helical pattern, such as spiral pipes, wire-reinforced pipes/shells, spring-suspension, and so on. Theoretical modelling of wave propagation provides a prediction about the dynamic behavior, and it is f...

Performance based assessment of offshore wind turbine platform using the constrained new wave method

The purpose of this study is to provide a more accurate and practical method than static and spectral methods to assess the offshore wind turbines that are loaded with both wave and wind time history, the structure is evaluated by increasing the load intensity in successive steps to the stage of failure and the performance of the platform in different wave patterns are investigated. In this stu...

Development of a mathematical model to design an offshore wind and wave hybrid energy system

Fossil Fuels are always considered as environmental pollutants. On the other hand, the political and economic situations highly affect the price of these fuels. Offshore wind and wave, as renewable energy sources, represent the better alternatives for electricity generation. Therefore, it is necessary that wind speeds effectively be estimated due to the absence of field measurements of the wind...
